Six, plus three, plus five, plus, equals ?

August 14th, 2008

It’s August, it’s not a good summer in the uk(it’s raining as I write this) and I haven’t time to go to the apartment until at least next month. So I thought I would  go on a virtual day trip and have a look around. The apartment itself, still looks good; the sun is shining and the views are stunning. There is so much to do and so many things to see, that it can be difficult to choose. There’s festivals, carnivals, caves, walks, zoos, boat rides, quad-bikes, dolphin spotting, whale watching, climbing, to name but a few things. Then there are olive tours and sherry tastings; Spain is a producer of some very good quality wines too, and  there are thousands of cafes and restarants to choose from, to sample some local dishes.

The advantage of the apartment being located in the southern part of Spain, a few minutes from Marbella, is that there are so many different place to visit. Inland, towards  Rhonda, which is beautiful, and Sevilla or north, past Malaga, towards Granada. Even south, along the coast to Tarifa, which is the southernmost point of Europe, with the coast of the African continent only 14km (9 miles)away. That comment reminds me that there are three other countries within easy reach of the apartment; Gibraltar, Portugal and Morocco. Next time I’m in the apartment, I’ll try to plan a trip or perhaps just explore more of southern Spain!

The title of this blog was left open for you to complete. It starts with the apartment, which sleeps up to six people, plus the sun(three letters), plus stunning views, plus things to see and do, equals whatever you want your holiday to be

The choice is yours. Try it, see what you think

Feeling like you’re actually in Spain

June 10th, 2008

Feedback from one of the guests who spent some time in the apartment was that it is in an area that actually feels Spanish. Because it is not on the beach and very close to the small village of Benahavis in the hills above Estepona, it is surrounded by rural Spain. This gives it a charm all of its own.

The views from the apartment, both on the side terrace, particularly at night, and the front terrace where Gibraltar is visible, scored highly with them, as did the layout of the apartment. Seeing the pool from the apartment was usefull, especially when cooking on the BBQ!

Overall, they were delighted with the whole experience. How will you score it? Marj

Rain verses Sun

June 1st, 2008

This is the first week in June and it’s raining in the UK! We have guests in our Sea to Mountains apartment at present and I’m told it’s about 27 degrees and sunny.  I know where I’d rather be! But my job means that I can’t spend all my time in the sun, which is one of the reasons we allow guests to stay and enjoy what I believe to be one of the best locations in the region, but I am biased. I do believe in getting feedback from all our guests and as well as using the web-site to let us know what they think, we have recently put a Visitors Book in the apartment, for people to put their comments in.

When we go over, (we were there last week), we seem to spend quite a lot of time entertaining and being entertained. It’s such a social environment that you can eat and drink in some beautiful restaurants with some great people from so many different countries. Or you can just sit on one of the terraces and enjoy the Sea to Mountains views; the bay of Marbella and the mountains in the background or the sea and Gibraltar and North Africa. You can do nothing, or something, the choice is yours. I look forward to seeing you there one day.  Marj
